Hereness & Thereness will be there...here: 36 Days until the Gowling Christmas & Holiday Craft Show

Hereness & Thereness is one of the great vendors you'll find at the Gowling Christmas & Holiday Craft Show on November 14th (W.E. Gowling P.S. - 250 Anna Ave, Ottawa).  I bet there's a little one on your gift list that would love one of the adorable toys she has to offer.  Adorable!

Hereness & Thereness

Using fabrics printed with my own illustrations, I make wee fabric houses, hand puppets (also available as DIY kits!), finger puppets, Gnome stuffies, and more! I also make one-of-a-kind houses from upcycled fabrics for a more tactile experience. I hope that my toys inspire children’s imaginative play.

36 Days Left : Gowling Christmas Craft Show - Knitting Mima

With only 36 days to prepare for the Gowling Christmas & Holiday Craft Show...Knitting Mima is busily preparing her knit wares to share with you at the show.  Check them out and pick up some warm knits for the winter!

Knitting Mima

Knitted hats and mitts. What a great way to stay warm while showing off your team or school colours. The hats have a double band for extra warmth and the"newfie" mitts and very warm also. They are available in toddler, child and teen/adult sizes.

Bursting with Thanks & Still Voting for a Healthy Library

Thank you to all our supporters!!

The adopt a school campaign continues until 11:59pm tomorrow night.

Please continue to support your friendly neighbourhood public school!

Hearts are bursting with thanks at W.E. Gowling!  There is so much to be thankful for but the obvious is the support of friends, family, neighbours and community throughout the Adopt a School campaign.  We now have over 400 books donated - wow!  We have a support base of almost 700 adopters/voters, some of whom have been here since the start of the campaign almost three weeks ago and some of whom are new this week.  Gowling is grateful for every single supporter.

This week in the library we read The Thanksgiving Door by Debby Atwell - photo above.  It's a heart-warming story about an immigrant family's first Thanksgiving with uninvited guests looking for a meal because theirs was burned. The evening ends after a time of generously sharing and celebrating with each other and making new friends.  The other photos are signs of autumn and Thanksgiving around Gowling which is indeed a thriving school with students from over 50 different countries, sharing, celebrating, learning and making new friendships.  What an incredible place to be!
A thank you quote from one of our students: "Have you ever had that special feeling holding your favourite new book? Your donation made me feel that way. Thank you for adopting our school."  D.M.
