First Day and Already Making Waves! - 2016 Indigo Adopt a School Campaign is UNDERWAY!!

HELLO ALL!!

Remember last year's Indigo adopt a school campaign??

Remember how we raised an insane amount of money for our library in a very short amount of time with YOUR help?

Well this year, we are at it again! We made a great impact last year... but many of the books in our library are still outdated - primarily our early reader english books (used by all grades, due to varying reading levels and because quite a few students are learning English as a second language).  We will also need additional French books as we continue to expand our Early French Immersion program.

So... We WERE aiming for at least 1 book for every child (350 books)...

BUT WE HAVE ADDITIONAL HELP THIS YEAR!!

PINECREST CHAPTERS IS PARTNERING WITH US (!!)

NOW, THE WORLD IS OUR OYSTER!

What does this partnership mean?

Pinecrest Chapters will be seeking donations in their store for W.E. Gowling. This will be for the full duration of our campaign!! We are the only school they are doing this for and they have a whole task force of staffers working on ways to increase donations and really amplify our cause!

You will hear more about some Pinecrest Chapters special events, once we have official dates... but their team is thinking big....

(Spoiler Alert)

Like a Super-Duper Chewbacca, Millennium Falcon Kind of Big!!!!

So how can you help beyond attending these Chapters events?

Last year was an Indigo adopt a school program anniversary, so things worked a little differently.... This is how you can help our campaign this year:

1) Spread the word! Tell your friends that Pinecrest Chapters is accepting donations with every in-store purchase and share our links with your friends online!

2) Go Online! Buy a book (or two, or three, or four...) for W.E. Gowling online - They take no percentage.  It all goes to our library! For every two books you buy, THEY WILL DONATE A THIRD BOOK FOR FREE! https://adoptaschool.indigo.ca/eng/schools/1199

3) Go Online AGAIN!! Write a brief story online (using their drop down cues) and Indigo will GIVE OUR SCHOOL A BOOK FOR FREE! https://adoptaschool.indigo.ca/eng/schools/1199

*Free books from Chapters will be to a maximum of 50 books.

We are already off to a great start! 21/350 books and only halfway through our first day!!

Let's keep this book bus a'movin'!

Cheers,
From Your School Council
